Raeven

Raeven Merlot (né Raeven Rak'Tika) was born and raised in the Rak'Tika Greatwoods within Vieran high-society. Her early childhood years were spent living lavishly in her family home alongside her brother, and best friend Cardinal Merlot. This was, of course, until they reached the age their culture separated the female and males into their appropriate societal norms and duties. Over time, Raeven grew tired of the status quo, and life designed to have every decision made for her. She no longer wanted to remain in the very place that separated her and her kin, knowing it was not something Cardinal could neither manage, nor was he built for at heart. On the eve of her 21st birthday, she spoke her goodbyes to the women of her family. When she departed, she knew her culture would be hesitant at best in ever allowing her to return there as a citizen, or perhaps even for family visits. This was a sacrifice, though, that she was willing to make to see the cities, cultures, and world of Eorzea travelers had spoken so fondly of.

 

In recent years, she finds herself living a quiet and peaceful life. She remains on good terms with her brother, and often visits him in the Vieran cities, with him dressing in drag to be more accepted into society again outside of the breeding season. She travels the world, filling out a herbarium, bartending or working from venue to venue, or spending time at home as a mother of two beautiful twins with her eternally bonded miqo husband and the love of her life.
